OUR CIRRICULUM

Prescott utilizes a Core Knowledge Cirriculum based on the National Association for the education of young children guidelines. We also use frog street press. These guidelines state that young children learn best by doing. For example, when a young child scribbles, uses scissors, laces or paints, that child is developing the fine muscle control needed for writing. Brain connections are being formed regaurding cause and effect, developing the child's ability to predict what will happen next. An important ability in learning to read. Core knowledge consists of 5 components:
Language, Math, History, Geography, Visual Arts, and Music.
Units of study are implemented every two weeks.
We also include prayer before meals, scriptures in our
curriculum

OUR STAFF

All of our employee's are required to have FBI
background check. They are CPR/First Aide Cert. and have had TB checks. I require all employee's to have previous childcare experience to be a lead teacher. The state requires child care workers to have 15 hours in continuing education training. Our employee's work hard for you and your children. We know YOU are the most important teacher in your child's life! If you are intrested in a career with Prescott please go to employment page to print an application. See our About Us page for Staff bio's.

PLAYGROUND TIME/REST TIME
We go outside once in the morning and once in the afternoon weather permiting 45 minutes each time. We have 2 seperated play areas one for 18months and up to 2 years and one for 3 year olds and up. I am a believer in pysical fitness. I know that if you encourage children to be active when young that lays the ground to be healthy in adulthood. We provide water while outside and they always wash their hands when returning from outside. We have a basketball goal and mini court, a hopscotch area and a small track so that they may run laps if they wish. They are never forced to run laps. Nor do we require that they sleep at nap time. We do give them a book or puzzle if they are not tired.

PARTIES
We have seasonal parties throughout the year. We also have pizza parties and the occasional parents night out.

EMPLOYMENT
We are always accepting applications. Please feel free to stop in and fill one out. As we grow we will be needing more employee's. We do give child care discounts to employee's.
Quarterly staff meetings are held. Print an application from the employment page.
